So...I can't even believe it but it's almost Thanksgiving already.  It's still crazy to me just how fast time flies.  Everyone told me it would as my kids got older but dang...they weren't kidding.  And Christmas is just around the corner.  I love Christmas...it's for sure my favorite holiday.  I love the decorations...and I LOVE having kids during Christmas time.  It makes it all so much fun!  Unfortunately for poor Rae we also have to squeeze in a birthday party during all the Christmas chaos.  I don't believe she gets quite the "special day" that she deserves but I do the best I can.  And of course there's Brent's birthday thrown in there as well...just to really mess things up!  Like it's not already hard enough to find him something for Christmas...but birthday on top of it all.... ugh... December birthdays are the worst!!!
So Thanksgiving this year should be interesting.  I think (yes..it's still up in the air....need to consult the husband when he returns) but...I think we will be having thanksgiving dinner here this year.  Hope no one gets sick...hehe... yeah...probably shouldn't laugh...it' could happen!  We will see how it goes.  I will put Brent in charge of the turkey and I think I can handle everything else.  Since my sister will be at her in-laws this year and my dad well... long story... but with my dad's health being the way it is... I think this is the year to have it here!  I'll need all the luck I can get!  The kitchen isn't really where I do my best work!!!  However, I am getting better...no one is starving at my house...so all is good!
Crazy busy weekend ahead...making the long drive to Des Moines to meet up with the husband who has been in Kosovo for a while with the guard...and then watching...yes watching him and his friends run in the Living History Farms cross country race...always fun...and always cold.  I'm hoping for good weather.  However, if not... I did purchase some hand and toe warmers!  Then that evening we will be seeing Zac Brown Band....love those guys.  Of course...so does Brock... I'm sorry but it's funny to listen to a 7 year old boy sing..."I got my toes in the water...ass in the sand".  I told him it's only ok to say those words if they are in a song like that.  Which..so far he has been respectful of...for now anyway!

The two greatest loves of my life!

A rare photo of the fam!

And yes... my 2nd favorite holiday....Halloween!!!  Loved their costumes this year!!!  Rae the rocker and Brock the zombie!!  And Clint threw together his old werewolf costume with a little touch of the Cardinals.  Everyone kept telling him he should have been a squirrel...yes people .. we know but he didn't already have a squirrel costume...he had a wolf costume so get over it!  Yea...just a few people mentioned it.

Brock on stage... being judged for ugliest costume in his age group.  He won first prize... but not sure it was all worth the long wait in the cold!!

Zombie and rocker chick!
