Well... I haven't been on the computer yet today because I just haven't been feeling well. Which has prompted me to move ahead and tell you all about our Christmas Eve... it was a good one. I was so looking forward to Christmas Eve. I even suggested to the family that we move our Christmas get together from Christmas Eve to the following Saturday because it always seems so hectic on Christmas Eve and I wanted to really enjoy it this year. It always seems we get to my parents house and before you know it we are rushing out so that we can make it to church on time. So we all agreed to change it and I just thought to myself...this will be great. We will go to church...get home and the kids won't be exhausted like they normally are and we can unwrap our PJ's that santa left while we were gone... sit down in front of a fire...have some hot chocolate and read Christmas stories.... really how great does that sound...right out of a Hallmark movie right???? Well... I should have know that it would never go that way. That day the kids and I and Terri and Clint went to see Mom and Dad for a couple hours and then headed home. We later got ready for church and headed up there. Brock seemed fine all day long...except that he did take a 2 hours nap which is unusual for him but figured it was a good thing since we would be at church. Raegan was going to sing that night and I was excited to see that and figured with Brock well rested he might actually watch his sister! Anyway....we got to church.... Terri, Tom and Clint showed up.... we actually had room that they could sit next to us.... everything seemed perfect. Brock was being a little clingy to me... wanting to sit on my lap and telling me he was cold. Well...he is a lot like his mother that way...we are always the cold ones! Next thing you know he stands up.... coughs... which I didn't even noticed but Terri mentioned later.... and then he proceeds to vomit all over my lap. I'm not just talking about a little bit either.... I mean it was EVERYWHERE!!! How awful. You know it's Christmas Eve at church....a couple guys in the choir are singing .... and of course we are sitting right next to them so everyone in the church is looking our direction anyway.... and there Brock stands throwing up ALL over his mother. Now I've been vomited on many times... I can take it...it doesn't really bother me like it does Brent... but in a crowded church.... I mean you know... people who NEVER go to church come out of the woodwork and show up on Christmas Eve. So anyway...we all just kind of sit there for a minute...seriously not really knowing what to do. Then we get up....get out of there and into the bathroom. Terri and another lady bring out our stuff and the pew cushion that is of course...full of vomit and I do my best to clean up myself and the cushion. It was nuts. So needless to say.... there was no fire, or hot chocolate or stories read in our house that night. We got Brock in the bath... into his new jammies... and into bed. The next morning he was better... a little fever still... and a little tired... but he was still able to enjoy Christmas morning. Poor little guy!!! And of course Brock says everytime someone ask him how he is feeling says.... "I threw up on my mom and it was so cool". At least that is what he told his Sunday School teacher this morning. One other gross note.... when he threw up a little piece of something came flying out of his mouth and landed right on my sisters lip.....too funny don't you think!!!!
Anyway, after Brock started feeling better Brent started feeling bad...which is really strange because the man never ....really NEVER gets sick. But he got it... no vomit... but let's just say he couldn't leave the bathroom. Then this morning I woke up not feeling so great and visiting the bathroom myself. Although my problems have been a bit different... I had a terrible headache and just a strange pain in my belly button... not sure what that's about.... I've probably got yet something else going on.... I'm telling you... I'm almost 38 and I'm already falling apart!
Well let me just write a little bit about Brent's birthday party. It was a lot of fun and I was just happy to get out of the house. I left the kids with my sister and headed to Iowa while he was at drill. He had no idea that I was there.... at least until I found out that he was trying to get a hotel room when I already had one and was already there!!!! I was able to call him and said "what are you doing"...he said trying to get checked into the hotel...I said.... don't do it I already have a room and I'm at the Super 8....needless to say he was a bit confused. And the funny part...he didn't really ask why I was there...he just went with it. So later we showed up at the bar where I had invited people and he finally figured it out. It all worked out fine and I think he had a good time.
Really I think it's time for me to go home about the time this picture was taken!
O'yeah....I'm there to have a good time too!

Doing a shot....except for Mike on the end.... looks like he's doing a shot of cake!
There's LOTS of candles on that cake!
These napkins were perfect for the husband since you will often find him wearing socks with his sandals...not a good thing!
